Music for Hand in Hand
SIRION alias Sigi Hümmer
Sigi Huemmer can
look back on a 30-year music career comprising
over 400 live gigs and a large CD production.
Originally home in the punk sphere of music,
he walks on unusual paths. Sigi Huemmer,
as SIRION, creates and introduces, in addition
to acoustic-classic guitar music, timeless
original compositions with his own lyrics,
as well as traditional prayers or mantras.
His influences are from the Spanish Rociero-Flamenco,
from Indian ragas, from post-modern folk,
and together with lascivious psychedelic
elements he creates an intensive fusion which
denotes self contained and charismatic characteristics
- music which has the ability to alter consciousness.
Core to the CD is the 10-minutes piece ‘Kalkutta’
– unconventional and uncomfortable. In addition
to other songs there is also a short speech
by Peter van Breukelen, President of Hand
in Hand.
